Jaime has always had a love and understanding for all animals, but a particular special place in her heart has always belonged to dogs. She has been professionally training all breeds and temperaments of dogs for over 15 years. Jaime took her love of dogs to the next level in 1999 and became a Certified Master Dog Trainer, attending Canada West CanineCentre and graduating among the top in her class. She attends ongoing seminars to broaden her knowledge and believes you never stop learning when working with animals.
Jaime competes in CKC obedience, conformation, herding and has gained titles on several breeds of dogs. In her spare time she dabbles in the sport of schutzhund and enjoys agility. Jaime is a certified explosive detection K9 handler and a certified security patrol K9 handler. She is passionate about her work and it shows each time she picks up a leash. Her resume includes:
- Certified Master Dog Trainer - Canada West Canine Centre (1999)
- Past president of West Coast German Shepherd Rescue (2000-2001)
- Animal Behavior and Training Associates Inc. - Certified (2001)
- City of Coquitlam bylaw and animal services clerk and kennel attendant (2003/2004)
- Currently offers assessments for shelter dogs for several lower mainland shelters and teaches dog safety and body language seminars for animal shelter staff (2005- present)
- Currently volunteers time working with inmates and staff at Alouette Correctional Centre for Womens doggy daycare program (2010- present)
- Certification in Pet First Aid by Saint Johns Ambulance (2004)
- Owner/Operator of successful dog training, daycare and grooming center in Vancouver, BC 'Absolute K9' for four years (2004-2008)
- Police Dog Training Center - certified - Florida by IFRI/NFSTC standards (2006/2007)
- Currently teaches bite safety prevention seminars to meter readers (BC Hydro)
- Validated Patrol K9 Handler and Validated Explosive Detection K9 handler, Justice Institute of BC (2009/10)
- K9 detection Supervisor for Western K9 Security (2007 to 2009)
