What to Expect From a Day of Play at Good Dog Laurier
From your very first visit, we take the time to get to know your dog, their history, and their unique personality. This allows us to match them with the perfect playmates and choose the right areas and activities for their absolute comfort. New dogs are introduced thoughtfully and warmly to keep stress low and confidence sky-high!
During the day, your dog spends time in energetic, supervised playgroups, enjoys structured physical activity, and has open access to quiet areas for essential rest. Indoor rooms are temperature-controlled so your dog is cozy in any weather, and our massive outdoor yards give them room to run, explore, and just be a dog. Our team constantly monitors body language, energy levels, and group dynamics to ensure healthy socialization stays friendly, safe, and wildly fun.

Your dog’s safety is always our absolute top priority. All daycare procedures at Good Dog are created and overseen by Expert Professional Dog Trainers with extensive education in dog behavior, first aid, health, and safety. “We had a wonderful experience with Good Dog Day Care in Port Coquitlam! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about the dogs. My pup always comes home happy and exhausted after a day of play, and I love the peace of mind knowing he’s in good hands. The facility is clean, well-organized, and spacious, with plenty of room for the dogs to run around and socialize. I also appreciate how they send me updates and pictures during the day, so I can see how much fun my dog is having. Dogs over 6 months who remain intact are welcome for both daycare and boarding! To maintain a safe and balanced play environment, we have specific days for intact males and females to join the playgroup:
Male Dogs: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays
Female Dogs: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Sundays
If your dog attends on their designated intact day, they will join our regular playgroups and be charged our standard daycare rate.
If your dog attends on a non-designated day, they will be part of our Tailored Care Program, which includes personalized playtime, enrichment activities, and toy time. An additional fee applies for this service on non-playgroup days.

All dogs must be up to date on their vet’s schedule for Bordatella/Kennel Cough, Parvo/Distemper and Rabies.
We require that dogs come into our facilities without fleas, and the only way to do this is to be on preventative medication year-round. This is a requirement, though it is over-the-counter, therefore it is on the good faith system.
We highly recommend your dog be regularly de-wormed to ensure they remain free of parasites that can be passed on to other dogs. We require that dogs come into our facilities in a state of health that does not put your dog or our other doggy guests at risk.
To ensure this, your dog must be free of any injuries or pain that may be inflamed or irritated by play, as well as being free of any of the following symptoms for 24 hours prior to any visit: green or yellow discharge from eyes/nose, vomiting, diarrhea, unusual coughing or sneezing and free of ticks and worms to the best of your knowledge.
-
No, however, we do require reservations in advance to ensure we have a spot for your dog and for us to be able to maintain consistency in delivering the amazing day your dog has each time they visit, we recommend coming on the same days each week to build familiarity and establish your dog's pack. Most dogs do best attending 2 - 4 days per week.

At Good Dog, we are experts in tailored dog care and are equipped and educated to deal with a wide variety of needs that our furry friends present us with. We have a tailored care approach to all dogs and have vast experience providing the best care possible with special considerations where needed. After our Meet & Greet we will determine if our space is a great fit for your dog, along with. tailored plan for their care. We are honoured to be able to care for your senior or special needs dog.
-
If your pup hasn’t visited us in 6 months or more, we require that they complete a daycare day before booking any future reservations. This is to ensure your dog's care plan is still tailored to their needs, as dogs' preferences change over time, and allow us to ensure your dog will still be comfortable in our care and enjoy their time in with us!
